New Arrivals – Ortofon OM-1S

The OM-1S is a high compliance (20 µm/mN) moving magnet cartridge with an aluminium cantilever that tracks at 1.75 g. It provides balanced and distortion-free playback and doesn’t destroy records. It has a spherical shaped stylus for a very specific reason; most entry-level turntables do not have tonearms with height adjustment. VTA/SRA adjustment is much less critical with a spherical stylus because it’s footprint in the record groove remains virtually unchanged even if tone arm height is not ideal.
